Set up your pipeline stages

Stages are the columns of your pipeline: the path you push an opportunity along until you win it. Before you work the board, define them here. It opens in Settings → Stages.

New stage opens the drawer where you give it a Name (Spanish) (and Name (English) if you work bilingually), a Color to recognize it on the board, and its Win probability — how likely you are to win an opportunity while it sits in that stage, which feeds the forecast.

Each stage has a category: Open (still alive), Won or Lost. That’s what tells the pipeline how to count the opportunity and what happens when you close it. Every pipeline is born with its system Won and Lost stages, so you focus on the Open stages in the middle.

In Forecast thresholds you define, by stage probability, from what point a deal counts as Committed and from what point as Best case. That’s what makes the forecast separate the near-certain from the optimistic. You can leave them blank to use the default.

If you sell in different ways (say, new sales and renewals), New pipeline creates another board with its own stages. On the pipeline you pick which one to see with the selector at the top.

When you close an opportunity as lost, the pipeline asks Why was it lost? with a list of reasons. Seven come preloaded (Price, Went with a competitor, Stopped responding…) and you tailor them to your business —add your own, rename them, or archive the ones you don’t use— in Settings → Loss reasonsSet up your loss reasons. (Discarding a lead is different: those reasons live in Settings → Activities.)
