Connect your WhatsApp number

Link your WhatsApp Business line to Ma-ko so your team can receive and reply to messages from the shared Inbox.

Before you start

You need

• To be an admin of the business in Ma-ko.
• Access to your Meta (Facebook) Business account.
• A number: a new one dedicated to Ma-ko, or the one you already use in the WhatsApp Business app if you want to keep answering from your phone too (coexistence).

Steps

1. Open Settings → Channels and enter WhatsApp. On the channel page, choose Connect number.

2. Pick the modality. A new number, only in Ma-ko (recommended: your whole team works from the Inbox) or Keep using WhatsApp Business on your phone (coexistence: the same number works on your phone and in Ma-ko at once).

3. Set the Owning team and the Display name. Conversations arriving through this number are assigned to that team.

4. Press “Connect with Facebook”. Meta’s dialog opens: sign in, pick (or verify) your number and accept the permissions. Nothing to copy or paste.

5. Test the connection. Use Test connection on the channel page, or message yourself from another phone: it should appear in your Inbox within seconds.

Several lines

If your team uses several numbers, connect each one as its own channel with its own owning team — every conversation keeps its origin.

Result

Note

Your WhatsApp is connected and incoming messages reach the owning team’s Inbox, ready to assign and answer as a team.
